Today we walk with Jesus to Jerusalem in His ascent to the Cross.
With Ignatius, I ask the Father for this gift: to feel sorrow with Christ in sorrow; to experience anguish with Christ's own anguish; and even to experience tears and deep grief because of all the afflictions Christ endures for me at the end of His life.
Our scripture is Jesus washing the disciples feet: enfleshing in his own body and actions the servant nature of leadership in God's kingdom. "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."
We now know how dirty, tired and bruised feet become after a long day's walk.
Many on the pilgrimage of life long for someone to tend to their needs, them bearing bruised and tired spirits. Who might that be for me?
Another day of our pilgrimage prayer begins (the first two hours in prayer.)
We think WE are traveling at snail's pace! One sees and understands more than imagined, not to mention those one meets on the road, and those conversations that ensure at a slow pace.
The orange arrow of the Camino Ignaciano urges us onwards.
Unexpectedly, we found ourselves slushing through a stream of water and thick foliage: the desert is full of surprises!
Muddy boots led us to a fruit stall in the middle of nowhere!
Fitzy is intent on grapes!
Jan is resting, Danni hungry, and Stephen envious!
The three amigos nearing our destination.
.... Which is Candasnos.
